The NBA is back again in 2012, with thirty teams competing for a chance at the championship, The NBA is the top professional division of men's basketball in the United States and consists of 29 United States Teams and one team in Canada. NBA began in 1946 and has been garnering fans from all across the country and even around the world every since. Games are played throughout the season, with an average of five or six played every day. Teams rack up points to become Divisional and Conference champions and to compete in the NBA finals.

The NBA playoffs will start in April. Eight teams from each of the two conferences compete for the championship. There will be the three division leaders, and then the next team in the conference with the best record taking the spot of the top four seeds, with the next four with the best record taking the last four spots. Each team then plays an opponent in the best out of seven games. The Dallas Mavericks are the current Champions, beating the Miami Heat last year. In 2010 it was the Los Angeles Lakers, as well as in 2009 and 2008, with the Boston Celtics runners-up twice and the Orlando Magic runners-up in 2009.
